During the first week of November 2022, Governor Baker signed the legislation creating the Grandin Water District.
Next Step – The Water District’s Commissioners will negotiate with East Northfield Water Company and Northfield Mt. Hermon School to obtain the business.
As part of this step, the Water District Commissioners will seek government grants and loans for expansion and upgrade of the system.
Background
Creation of the Grandin Water District establishes Water District Commissioners to obtain government grants and loans and negotiate the transition with East Northfield Water Company.
Approval to create the Grandin Water District does not commit the Town or customers to operate or fund the current water distribution system. The Grandin Water District Commissioners will evaluate those steps now that the Grandin Water District has been created.
